However, please note that this update won't have any affect on performance/security/compatibility on any other system than QNAP. This update was specifically released to address a compatibility issue in QNAP systems related to the hardware encryption part. All other system are working fine even without the update based on the experience we have.
 
If you would still like to apply the update, this should of course be no problem.
